Next Generation of Philanthropists

The Next Generation of Philanthropists program is still being planned. It is envisioned as a 12-month empowerment and leadership program for young women ages 16-21 from diverse communities in Eastern and Central Massachusetts. The Next Generation of Philanthropists program will aim to develop the next generation of activist women leaders in community-based organizations and non-profit philanthropic foundations. The development will come by promoting the participants’ commitment to women’s rights and other social justice issues and by providing them with education, internships, support, and experience in philanthropy and fundraising for community grassroots organizing.

The Young Sisters for Justice in Philanthropy program is the predecessor to this program. Historically, it has been a signature program implemented by the Fund, and operated in four two0year cycles from 1997 through 2008. The program was a youth-led, community-based leadership program for a diverse group of 6-10 young women ages 16 to 20, involving them in building awareness of social change work and philanthropy and creating a youth-led organizing effort.
